Has been playing in noise and no wave bands since the age of twelve. Drinking beers with Sonic Youth, in awe of Swans and No New York. At the same time witnessing the things that were going on in the Apollohuis. Went to an awful lot of art schools, institutes and universities. With a focus on painting, mostly abstract, highly minimal. Started making guitar based sound installations around the turn of the century. Reverse engineering with a strong belief in synchronicity. Gradually shifting from working with machines to composing for musicians. Open ended pieces with an interest in improvisation and process music. Very much aware of the social aspects of playing music together. Scores in which visual decisions may have a strong impact on the musical outcome. Searching for patterns, finding music. Still thinking about painting.
